Rhonda Revelle notches 1,000th career coaching win at Nebraska

By News Mar 1, 2021 | 5:23 AM

Nebraska softball coach Rhonda Revelle stands alone.

No other Husker coach has won 1,000 games at Nebraska, a feat Revelle achieved in a 7-1 win over Michigan State Saturday.

Revelle, a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the Nebraska Softball Hall of Fame, began her career at Nebraska as a player. She was a five-time ASA All-American and a member of Nebraska’s 1982 Women’s College World Series team.

In 1992, Revelle took over the head coach position in Lincoln. Since then, the Huskers are now up to 1,001 wins, 20 NCAA Tournament berths, 15 top-20 national finishes, eight top-10 finishes, seven conference titles, and three trips to the Women’s College World Series. That doesn’t include the eight coach of the year awards, including one from each of the Big Eight, Big 12, and Big Ten.

The Huskers are 3-3 to begin the 2021 season. They face Michigan Thursday and Friday in Florida.
