During that deadly pile up on I-35 in Texas last week, a woman who crashed crawled out of her trunk and went to work after getting wrecked. It was around 6:30 Thursday night when Rebecca Benson, a nurse, was headed to the hospital when her car hit the ice, spun out of control, and landed between a couple of semis. All her doors were completely blocked, but someone came along to help and opened up the hatch back. She got out, asked the police if she could leave her car there, and then caught a ride with a co- worker who was also on the highway, but not in the accident.
After she’d hit the semis, she said, “I looked in the review mirror and can see all of these cars heading towards me. So I think that was the scariest part, knowing that I survived this part but now the chances of me getting completely smashed by all the cars and semis behind me”. She said that after she got trapped, she could hear the other cars hitting around her.
