3 P.M. Update: Winter Operations Continue For Lincoln Metro Area, 51 Crews Clearing Streets

At 3 p.m., 51 City and contractor crews continue winter operations, and the City will begin recalling plow crews over the next six hours as routes are completed. Twenty material spreaders will remain on duty this evening patrolling arterial streets, bus and school routes applying granular salt pre-wet with brine as needed.

National Weather Service: The Blizzard Warning expired at 3 p.m. A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until 7 p.m.  An additional half-inch of snow and wind gusts up to 55 mph are possible.

Weather conditions: Light snow and windy

Street conditions: Most arterial streets are wet with slush with near normal driving conditions. Isolated open areas will continue to experience blowing snow and drifting. Drivers should be alert for slick spots and reduced visibility.
