Read Any Good Books Lately?

By News Sep 28, 2020 | 10:40 AM

I have always loved to read and during this pandemic, many more of us Americans are picking up books to fill our free time.  Have you read any good books lately?  What favorites would you recommend to other B107.3 listeners?

What is cool around my house is that my wife is a bigger reader than I am and so are my kids….so when they read a good book that they think I might like they will suggest for me.  My son recently told me of an author he likes, NEIL GAIMON and gave me some of his books to read.  I just finished AMERICAN GODS yesterday.  I also found out that it apparently was turned into a series on STARZ. Have you seen it? Did you know about it?  Others by NEIL that I read are STARDUST and GRAVEYARD BOOK.  I have never been a big fan of “fantasy” books like THE HOBBIT and LORD OF THE RINGS, but I did like these three.  Are you a fan?

Two of my favorite authors are WILLIAM KENT KRUEGER who writes a mystery series featuring former cop, CORK O’CONNER who lives in the fictional town of Aurora, Minnesota, and C.J. BOX who writes a mystery series about game warden JOE PICKETT who lives in Wyoming.  I have talked to a few listeners who have read some of these books.  Both BOX and KRUEGER have written other “stand alone” books that I have read too, but I love following the series….I’m even so OCD that I have to read each of them IN ORDER and don’t want to go to the next one until I’m caught up.  Only problem there is waiting for the next installment to come out since I’m caught up on both.  Do you follow any particular author/character like that?

I’ve also been a big fan of ROBERT LUDLUM and have read most of his stuff (he wrote the BOURNE IDENTITY series)….and DAVID BALDACCI is pretty good, too. Anyway…..got any suggestions for good reading?  With cold weather approaching, I suspect more of us will be looking for a good story.
