Teen Selling iPhone Online Ends Up Thrown Off Of Moving Vehicle

By News Aug 27, 2020 | 10:48 AM

Lincoln Police are investigating a case involving the sale of an iPhone that ended with two teenage girls being thrown off a moving vehicle.

Police were called to 16th and Prospect around 8:30 Wednesday night.  A 16 year old told police she was selling her Apple iPhone to someone she was communicating with on SnapChat. The girl agreed to meet the man to sell the phone for $800.  Two of the girl’s friends went with her.

The teen told police when the man arrived, there were three other people in the car with him.  She handed the phone to the man to look at and he jumped back into the car and started to take off.  The victim and a 15 year old friend jumped on to the vehicle as it took off.  Both were eventually thrown from the vehicle and hit the pavement.  Neither were seriously seriously hurt and did not receive treatment for injuries.

Police say the investigation continues and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
