A man with a long list of outstanding warrants is behind bars. Lincoln Police report tat at 10:52 p.m., August 9th, officers saw 24 year old Darnell Mitchell exiting a vehicle. Mitchell had five outstanding warrants for burglary, shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.
Officers tried to stop Mitchell at 18th and E but he ran through Hazel Abel Park. Officers repeatedly told him to stop as they have chase to 16th and E where Mitchell was tackled and taken into custody near South 16th and F Street. Mitchell’s license was suspended, and he had 115 pills identified as Clonidine Hydrochroride, a sedative known to be abused in connection with other controlled substances.
Mitchell was booked for obstruction of a peace officer, possession of an illegal drug and driving under suspension.
