400th Anniversary with the Mayflower 2

A replica of the pilgrim ship, the Mayfloyer, is sailing into Massachusetts for the 400th anniversary of the original ship. The Mayflower 2 is an exact replica that England gave the US as a gift back in 1957. It’s been used to draw in tourists, but fell into a little disarray. In order to get it back into sailing shape, they spent more than $11 million fixing it up last year. The Mayflower 2, is set to cruise into Plymouth on August 10th. It was a fairly big ship 4oo years ago, but tiny in today’s standards. Today’s ocean liners usually hold around 3,000 passengers. The Mayflower was about 100 feet long and held about 105 people. Also, today there’s a lot less scurvy.
