Drive-Thru Job Fair Tuesday

By News Jul 13, 2020 | 4:00 PM

The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is teaming with a number of organizations and will host a Drive-Thru Job Fair on Tuesday, July 14th.

Approximately 50 Lincoln area employers are taking part and all are ready to hire. Director of Workforce Development Bryan Seck tells KLIN News they have put together 1,500 packets of information that will be passed out to job seekers.  Openings range from entry-level to management in fields ranging from manufacturing and office to construction and health care.

Seck is hoping that participants picking up the packets sort through the information carefully and find jobs that fit their needs and apply.  This fair will benefit the 24,000 Lancaster County residents that filed for Unemployment Insurance since March 21st.  The total represents three years’ worth of claims in just three months.

In addition, the Department of Labor announced that those receiving unemployment benefits must now begin job search requirements on July 1th instead of the previous guidance of August 1st. Attending this job fair counts as one requirement to continue to receive the benefit.

The Job Fair is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Gatewall Mall at 63rd and O Street, Lincoln Northeast High School, and the F Street Community Church.
