Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to a fire on July 4th at 8:10 a.m. on Gaslight Lane . Four people had made it out of the mobile home but firefighters rescued two dogs inside. The fire started on a mattress located in the rear bedroom. The fire was quickly put out.
Fire inspectors determined the cause of the fire was a child playing with a lighter o the mattress.
The damage estimates were $8,000 to the structure and $1000 in contents. Inspector Gross counseled the child on the dangers of playing with a lighter or matches.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to fourteen total fireworks related incidents from 5 p.m.on July 3rd to July 4th at 11:54 p.m. This number of calls is compared to thirteen in 2019 over the same timeframe.
