Authorities Recover Firearm Stolen From Lincoln Pawn Shop Nearly 3 Decades Ago

Gage County Police recover a weapon stolen from a Lincoln Pawn Shop almost 28 years ago.

Officer Erin Spilker says that on October 23rd, 1992 police reported to what was A and A Pawn at 620 W OSt. around 8 a.m. and after the owner reported that nine guns had been stolen overnight.

“Well, just happens to be last night Gage County Police contacted an individual with a .38 caliber Rossie handgun that had been reported stolen in this burglary,” said Spilker.

Spilker said there’s no chance the man arrested with the gun actually took part in the robbery “unless he was in a car seat.”

As far she can tell, this is the only gun that’s been recovered from the pawnshop robbery.

Police will continue to look into this case to determine if the statute has expired or how the gun remained in circulation for so long.
