Lincoln Police, Community Leaders Announce “Hold Cops Accountable” Meetings

By News Jun 3, 2020 | 6:07 PM

The Lincoln Police Department and local community leaders have announced a new, town-hall-style initiative meant to serve as an outlet for community members to voice concerns regarding LPD.

According to a handout by the Lincoln Police Department, the monthly events will be called Hold Cops Accountable.

LPD hopes that by further communicating with the residents more often, Lincoln law enforcement can better inform their training policies and procedures.

The HCA Meetings will not investigate complaints or misconduct but will provide any person the opportunity to file a formal complaint.

According to LPD regulations, all complaints are investigated.

The meetings will be monthly and will include members of local law enforcement, Malone Center employees, community group members, and members of the Mayor’s Multicultural Advisory Committee.

Meetings are scheduled to begin June 25th at the Malone Center.
