By News Apr 9, 2020 | 10:16 AM

A man being detained for domestic assault ends up biting a responding officer.

Lincoln Police Officer Erin Spilker said police were sent to a residence in the 800 block of Peach St. Wednesday afternoon around 2PM  on reports of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, an investigation determined that 26-year-old Guillermo Catillo Jr. needed to be arrested for assaulting his wife with “menacing threats.”

“Castillio yelled at officers and told them to get away from him and refused to be placed in handcuffs,”  said Spilker.

Eventually, officers were able to cuff Castillio, but when they attempted to put him in a cruiser, but he lurched backward.

“One of the officer’s hands was near Castillo’s head at the time, and he bit the officer on the hand, causing several lacerations,” said Spilker.

The officer was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.

Castillo was arrested for assaulting an officer, domestic assault, resisting arrest, and failure to comply.
