I experimented with new burger recipes and the grill during Memorial Day weekend to come up with…… well, I don’t have a name for it yet, but we’ll refer to it as the Asian Flave Burger. In a large bowl, mix about 3/4 a pound of hamburger, two tablespoons of Hoisin sauce, half a cup of bread crumbs, a tablespoon of garlic powder, a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes, and a tablespoon of shaved ginger root. mix it up until even. Now, mine turned out kind of goopy after mixing it together. you might want to add an egg white as an emulsifier or extra bread crumbs. It’ll still be sticky, so grease the grill with a little olive oil before throwing the patties on. Speaking of, my patties kept trying to stick to a serving plate and fall apart. So, I patted them together at the grill and threw them directly on. They firmed up quick. I served mine on buns with lettuce and no other seasonings or sauces and were really good, but I’m wondering if they might not have gone even better with a little extra duck sauce on top. Let me know if you give it a shot.
