Lincoln Police have charged a man with 1st-degree murder in the shooting death of a Lincoln resident at a North Lincoln intersection.
Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister says 22-year-old Michael Dewey (pictured above) was taken into custody Thursday evening at a residence in the 2200 Block of South 14th St. for the murder of 47 year-old Desmond Fowler.
“On May 16th and about 9:42 AM police received multiple calls of an adult laying down and possibly injured at the southeast corner of north 27th street at Holdrege”, says Farber.
But, when emergency crews arrived, they determined Fowler dead at the scene.
Though they have a suspect under arrest, Bliemeister says the public’s’ help is still needed.
“We know that there are other witnesses with knowledge of this incident who remain unidentified, and we need to speak with them,” says Farber. “We also have not recovered the handgun used to take Fowler’s life.”
Anyone with more information is encouraged to call police.
