A man wanted for murder in Mississippi is arrested in Lincoln.
Officer Angela Sands says 23-year-old Stephon Devonte-Samoin Clay was arrested Monday evening after a member of the Lincoln-Lancaster Narcotics Task Force noticed him by happenstance acting suspiciously near the federal courthouse.
The incident prompted a deeper investigation into Clay’s identity, which in turn revealed his warrant to officers.
The Narcotics Task Force then notified Lincoln’s Metro Fugitive Task Force of Clay’s whereabouts and he was arrested at the French Quarter apartments at 48th and Orchard.
The U.S. Marshal for the District of Nebraska calls the arrest a good example of the cooperation and communication between task forces.
