UPDATE: Lancaster County Sheriff Deputy Pursuit Ends In Rollover on I-80; 3 People Ejected, One Person in Life Threatening Condition

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s office releases new details on a rollover on I-80 that occurred while deputies where in pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says early this morning a member of the Fugitive Task Force spotted an SUV believed to be stolen and attempted to stop it, but after a short pursuit disengaged due to road conditions.

However Wagner says around 8AM Wednesday the S.U.V was spotted again at 9th and Rosa Park way.

“The deputy that was driving an unmarked vehicle summoned marked units to his location to affect the traffic stop at Rosa Parks Way and Highway 77,” says Wagner. “Marked units from the sheriff’s office tried to make the stop and the vehicle refused to pull over.”

Deputies gave chase until the SUV attempted to exit I-80 at MM 395 and rolled.

Wagner says at least three people were ejected and at least one person has life-threatening injuries.

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating.
