A police investigation has begun in the death of an infant at a South Lincoln home daycare.
Police Captain Robert Farber tells KLIN News Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to a home on the 6900 block of South 52nd St. yesterday for an infant reported to be in crisis.
“CPR was initiated by the caregiver (and) later by first responding officers.,” says Farber. ” Advanced life saving efforts continued during transport,” to a hospital, but the infant was pronounced dead at 4:18 PM.
Farber says initial investigations show no sign of foul play. An autopsy has been ordered and the investigation continues.
In a statement, Lincoln Police say they extend their condolences and request all to respect the privacy of family during this tragic time.
